On behalf of our client, ELPEDISON, we are looking to recruit a Regulatory & Business Analysis Officer.

The Position

The Regulatory & Business Analysis Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and analysis of Regulatory Framework for Energy, analysis of Greek and international energy markets’ trends & developments. Conduct research on innovation and growth opportunities, and evaluation and initial set up of new business initiatives.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Monitors developments in the regulatory framework (EU-Greece) as well as the gas and electricity markets operation.
  • Monitors the impact of the applied gas & electricity market rules in company’s business.
  • Identifies impact of anticipated regulatory and market developments in company’s business.
  • Identifies key regulatory, technological, and market barriers in potential opportunities and contributes in addressing them.
  • Analyses and proposes market/regulatory improvements. Drafts documents to support the authorities in designing and shaping policies relevant to the company’s business.
  • Contributes to licensing procedures.
  • Communicates with the authorities and governmental bodies, when required.
  • Analyses commercial and financial performance of the company versus its competitors.
  • Analyses and proposes business practices’ improvements.
  • Evaluates feasibility of potential opportunities for further business development.
  • Researches into innovative business opportunities that can bring the company into new segments of the market.
  • Contributes with proposals in the definition of the strategic plan of the company.
  • Prepares presentations and corporate communication material.
  • Executes projects and specific tasks assigned by the Regulatory & Business Development Director.

Job Requirements

Main Qualifications/Personal Characteristics

  • BSc in Engineering or Economics
  • MSc in Energy Economics and/or policy, Finance, MBA will be considered an asset
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience, including experience in liberalized energy markets operation and extensive understanding of the energy regulatory environment (mainly European)
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office applications and data analysis tools
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Organisation & time management skills
  • Highly developed communication & interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking & attention to detail
